Making staffing a real tool to support the professional development of employees: this was Vertone's objective when they called on Napta. To achieve this, it was necessary to completely review the annual evaluation process and put in place an end-of-mission evaluation system. “Nothing is lost, everything is transformed”: Napta has taken over what already exists to digitize and optimize evaluations, to combine performance and flexibility, thanks to the implementation of an intelligent tool.

The Vertone challenge

Vertone is a strategy and management consulting company, managing 160 employees in France. Its leitmotif? “Daring and surpassing ourselves to build the world of tomorrow”.

It is with this in mind that this consulting firm contacted the Napta teams in 2018. The company wanted to support the evolution and progress of its employees, without wasting time with processes that were too time-consuming. Napta's mission was to improve and streamline employee evaluation processes, while allowing them to monitor their professional development. A whole program!

The challenges launched by Vertone

Vertone needed to develop a 360 perspective on the evolution of employees, from the missions carried out to the skills developed, including their professional aspirations. To do this, several challenges were raised with Napta.

First, the digitization of the annual evaluation and end of project processes was essential. The Vertone teams took stock of indigestible PowerPoint and Word documents, which lacked structure and unity.

In addition, consolidating the information collected was very difficult, if not impossible. A single tool needed to be found that would make it possible to gather and create a complete history of all the evaluations carried out. Moreover, the process in place did not allow precise monitoring of the development of the skills of employees during their professional career.

Finally, Vertone wanted to improve the quality of evaluations by giving employees the opportunity to express feedback to their manager.

Employees take the reigns of their careers

Napta has restructured, architected, and simplified employee evaluation processes. Evaluation campaigns are divided into two categories: end-of-mission evaluations and annual evaluations. Both are now done on a dedicated tool with a personalized form, accessible online by everyone, at any time.

For end-of-mission evaluations, the Napta solution made it possible to:

  1. Centralize employee and project data, retrieved from the HRIS and ERP
  2. Declaring project objectives, between manager and manager
  3. Allow employees to self-assess themselves on qualitative criteria (satisfaction, improvements) and on soft skills
  4. Allow managers to assess employees based on a set of managerial skills,
  5. Ensure an interview at the end of the project, in order to complete and/or approve the completed forms as well as to define the areas of work.

Regarding annual evaluations, the process is now much more efficient:

  1. The forms are automatically pre-filled with available project and historical information. The collaborator only has to complete his part.
  2. The employee and the manager meet to draw up the balance of the year. They finish completing the evaluation form together.
  3. Once both parties are aligned with the elements in the form, they approve and close the evaluation in one click.
  4. Once the assessment is complete, the employee's skills profile is updated automatically, which also impacts Vertone's skills mapping.
  5. The results are consolidated in Napta in the form of reports and the analysis of these reports allows HR decisions to be made more quickly (recruitment plan, training and promotions).

The results!

Employees are placed at the heart of the project! The implementation of a single platform, offering two fully digital solutions, made it possible to transform processes and include all stakeholders in staffing missions.

To date, the Vertone teams have saved 30% of their time dedicated to feedback and evaluations thanks to the complete digitalization of processes. From filling out forms to analyzing the data collected, the intelligence of the Napta software allows all stakeholders to go faster in carrying out evaluations.

This digitalization has also allowed for a macro analysis of skills, at the firm level. After each campaign, the management committee can visualize the status of the skills mapping at the firm level, and thus make the recruitment, mobility or training decisions necessary for the evolution of the firm.

Finally, employees are actors in their careers. They can give and receive feedback at the end of each project. Each mission allows them to gain visibility on their professional future. A real asset, to engage them and allow them to increase their skills even more, while being motivated and challenged.

Thanks to the deployment of Napta, we have succeeded in streamlining our annual evaluation process. We have also digitized end-of-project evaluations in order to monitor and support our employees in their development at VERTONE.
